    • The Big Draw Returns to L.A. During Month of October

      The Big Draw LA creates opportunities for people of all ages to discover that drawing can help us SEE, THINK and INVENT. During October 2010, Ryman Arts spearheaded over 30 Big Draw LA events across Los Angeles. Your class could win prizes and raise the profile of your arts efforts by joining in. Get news for The Big Draw LA 2011, and consider adding an art event in your class or at your school. Learn more and join in.

    • Urban Wildlife and All That Construction at NHM

      They moved the giant bronze dinosaur statues in front of the Natural History Museum and dug up the whole front yard. What's going on? The new North Campus outdoor museum space will offer teachers a wide range of new resources on wildlife and urban habitats. Learn what's coming up and how you can bring it to your students.

    • Fall 2011 Professional Development Classes at Science Center

      Bring the expert teaching techniques of the California Science Center into your classroom (K-8th grades) with Professional Development workshops in October, November and December.

    • Big Changes at USC University Village

      The corner of Hoover Street and Jefferson Blvd will change dramatically in the next few years. USC continues plans to redevelop its University Village site, and is eager to inform surrounding neighbors, businesses and schools. The university's community outreach effort includes a newly-launched website, and they are planning now for community information sessions. Email village@usc.edu if you would like to have a USC representative speak to a parent or faculty group about the new development. Or you can ask ECCLA for help making arrangements.

    • Get Your Hands Dirty with the Arts at USC, Sunday, 10/9

      Learn pinhole photography, improve your drawing skills, salsa dance, have fun with improv, make ceramic figurines, explore fashion and architecture, create music with Pro Tools or play the guitar! USC's distinguished faculty will offer workshops in art, architecture, cinematic arts, interactive media, music, theatre and dance. For workshop schedule and details, and to RSVP, click here.

    • Yale Poet Elizabeth Alexander at USC 10/6: Cultural Connections
