President's Message
Dear Friends,
As the new academic year kicks off, I assume my duties as president of ECCLA. I do so with great enthusiasm, but I am also well aware of the challenges ahead. ECCLA is going through some major changes. Not only am I new, but we also have a new executive director.
We were all sad to say goodbye to Peggy Hentschke who served as ECCLA’s executive director for 10 years. She helped secure our organization’s place of importance among the schools we serve and our partners. Her expertise also made it possible to provide fiscal oversight and management to assist community projects, especially USC’s community-outreach programs, thereby contributing to ECCLA’s growth. She will be missed.
Happily, a new face joins our team. Jacqueline Hamilton is our new executive director and has assumed her new duties with a great deal of energy and commitment. Her background as an activist in the Exposition/University Park community is impressive as is her legal background. We will all get to know her better in the months ahead.
Both Jacqueline and I hope to count on your continued support of ECCLA, its mission and projects. Together we can make a difference.
Thank you,
Katharine A. Díaz
